55th WASH Forum on 7FATS in School


Paschim Paaila, in collaboration with ENPHO, organized 55th Series of WASH Forum entitled “Seven Flags Approach of Total Sanitation (7FATS) in School” on 30 November, 2017 at ENPHO Hall, New Baneshwor. The program highlighted components and areas of 7FATS approach for sustainable WASH in school.


Dr. Sudhan Raj Panthi from World Health Organization resided as the resource person for the interaction program. Dr. Panthi shared that 7FATS is a new approach for improving the status of sanitation in schools. The seven indicators of total sanitation according to WHO were discussed during the program. Similarly, the session also provided the information on seven steps to implement the approach.


Collectively, 27 participants from different colleges, organizations including ENPHO staff members attended the forum. Furthermore, the question and answer session after the presentation from the resource person made the program more interactive and participatory.


WASH Forum is a monthly program organized by Paschim Paaila on every last Friday of English month. The main objective of WASH Forum has always been to provide a platform to youths for interaction and knowledge sharing on various environmental and health issues in relation to WASH and disasters and to make them analyze the role of the youth in correlation with aforementioned issues.
