ENPHO, in coordination with Water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Resource Center Network Nepal (WASH-RCNN), is conducting “Paani Ra Sharsafai” radio program. Altogether, four episodes of the program will be broadcasted through 52 FM stations of Ujyaalo Radio Network 90 MHz. The first and second episodes were broadcasted on 12 January and 19 January 2017 respectively. The 35 minutes weekly program starts at 8:20 am and covers sanitation issues, its status in Nepal and, the efforts of ENPHO in the sector.
The first episode featured the interview with Mr. Bhushan Tuladhar, Environment Expert on present sanitation status, urban sanitation and, the associated opportunities and challenges. Likewise, the second episode highlighted ‘Faecal Sludge Management’ which is one of the emerging urban sanitation issues. The episode featured interview with Mr. Bipin Dangol, Executive Director of ENPHO highlighting the issues and need of proper faecal sludge management. Furthermore, Ms. Kripa Karki, Engineer at ENPHO briefed about the Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant at Lubhu. The episode also included a brief report on use of biogas, manure and treated wastewater from the treatment plant.
The next two episodes will be broadcasted on 26 January and 2 February 2017.
