Teams Headed for Emergency WASH Response in Flood Affected Districts

Emergency WASH Response

Early in the morning of 23 August 2017, four ENPHO staff members and three Paschim Paaila youth volunteers headed towards flood affected districts to support the local volunteers. They will be providing orientation on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in emergency to the local WASH volunteers and monitoring the information delivered. The local WASH volunteers will further provide the information to the flood victims and community on safe water, sanitation and hygiene to be highly considered in order to avoid epidemic after the disaster.

The teams gathered at ENPHO premises before moving for the flood response. Executive Director of ENPHO Mr. Bipin Dangol gave best wishes to the teams for this flood response mission. One team will be going to Rautahat, Sarlahi and Mahottari and the other team to Dhanusa, Siraha and Saptari.

Out of 27 flood affected districts, 12 are severely affected. ENPHO with the support of UNICEF will be responding in these 12 severely affected districts by WASH improvements through facilitation support to local WASH volunteers.
