ENPHO with the support of Oxfam under Emergency Public Health Intervention for COVID 19 in Kathmandu Valley project handed over Isolation Hygiene Kit to the informal waste workers of Kathmandu on 19th July, 2021. The program aimed to minimize the risk and prevent wide spread of COVID -19 as well as other water borne diseases for informal waste workers.
During the formal program, Mr. Ishwore Man Dangol, Chairperson of Ward- 15 and Spokesperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) distributed isolation hygiene kit to the informal waste workers working in different areas of KMC. Ward members from Ward- 13, representative from Social Development Unit, KMC and different waste management organizations participated during the program.
The isolation hygiene kit included bathing soap, washing/laundry soap, tooth brush, tooth paste, water bottle, surgical mask, hand sanitizer, sanitary pad, tissue paper, towel, comb and nail cutter.
“These materials in the hygiene kit will help us to ensure better hygiene while working and will also further support us to prevent and minimize the risk ofCOVID-19.”, remarked, Ms. Anju Deula, Chairperson, Swabhimani Sarasafaikarmi Sahakari Samuha.
Altogether 300 isolation hygiene kits were provided to informal waste workers of Kathmandu valley.
