The USAID Clean Air #SwachchhaHawa team completed a five-day ToT on Air Quality Management and governance for volunteers from 22 November to 26 November 2022. The main objective of this training was to capacitate volunteers on air quality management & governance, advocacy, and campaigning. It also focused on enhancing delivery & communication skills for effective community mobilization.
This training intends to prepare a youth team with good knowledge related to air quality management and its practical options on mitigation so that the volunteers can be mobilized as per need in various event at municipalities where we work particularly on awareness and grassroots advocacy campaign. These volunteers will remain throughout the project period and support the team to strengthen advocacy and accountability in addressing air pollution issues by linking advocates with the resources. They shall be utilized to support the activity by identifying the correct platforms and target audience to maximize the impacts and accelerate improvements in air quality management in Kathmandu Valley and beyond.
This activity will further identify, develop capacity, and empower volunteers by providing them with adequate information, technical support, and resources on air pollution. For this, the activity will also develop the training modules for the volunteers on air pollution issue, related policies and standards, its impact on environment and human health and role of civil society in advocacy and campaigning.
Altogether, 25 participants participated in this training, which included 10 Male and 15 Female participants.
