Product Description
What is P/A Vial?
Coliform Presence/Absence (H2S) Test Vial is a used for qualitative detection of faecal contamination in drinking water. The test vial (developed by ENPHO in 2001) is popular for water quality at field and been widely used by different national and international agencies for water quality testing activities.
Why P/A Vial?
Coliform Presence/Absence (H2S) Test Vial was developed in order to introduce a simple and low-cost method for determination of faecal contamination in drinking water qualitatively. The vial is able to detect presence of coliform bacteria within 48 hours of retention time.
If the water sample contains any form of faecal contamination, it would turn black in color after certain period of time. If it is absent, there would be no color change. P/A vial can be used in preliminary stage to check for presence of coliform contamination. For more specific result, a microbiological testing is suggested.
Key Features of P/A Vial:
- Light and portable
- Easy to use
- Low cost technology
- Requires only around 30 ml of sample water for testing
- Water can be directly collected into the vial; no need to have sterilized sampling bottle
User’s Instructions:
