Representatives from ENPHO and Innovative Solution Pvt. Ltd. had an effective meeting with the Mayor Krishna Khand, Deputy Mayor Kabita Ghaire and Chief Administrative Officer Rajan Bhattarai of Waling Municipality on collaborative effort for improving fecal sludge management (FSM) in the Municipality by adopting City-Wide Inclusive Sanitation Approach.
Furthermore, in a discussion program -with all municipal representatives including Ward Chairpersons (40 participants), Project Manager of ENPHO Ms. Rosy Singh briefed about the ‘Pilot Implementation of FSM Standard in Nepal’ project which is being implemented in Nepal with the support of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Ms. Singh further highlighted the sanitation activities to be conducted in the Municipality under the project. Director of Innovative Solution Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Bhushan Raj Shrestha presented about Integrated Municipal Information System (IMIS). IMIS is a powerful tool that facilitates effective planning, management, and monitoring and evaluation of sanitation systems and service delivery in line with the sanitation value chain towards goal of CWIS in municipalities.
Mahalaxmi Municipality, Lalitpur is the first Municipality in Nepal to establish and implement IMIS in Nepal. ENPHO, with the support of Innovative Solution Pvt. Ltd. is assessing IMIS readiness of the Waling Municipality and developing geospatial based CWIS plan of the Municipality.
