Masons of Godawari Municipality Trained on Standard Septic Tank

On September 2022, ENPHO with the support of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and in coordination with Godawari Municipality organized a one-day training on standard septic tank for the masons of Godawari Municipality. This training aims to brief the existing practices related to septic tanks in the municipality and enhance the knowledge and skills of participants on standard septic tank.

The event was graced by Ms. Muna Adhikari, Deputy Mayor of Godawari Municipality where she encouraged the participants to attend the training. “Masons are the important part of building a structure in a standard way. As ENPHO has been facilitating in enhancing knowledge in building a standard septic tank and thereby contributing to clean environment, Godawari municipality is also supporting in this project. I would like to encourage you to participate in this training with a dedication and also convey this knowledge in your community as well,” remarked Ms. Muna Adhikari, Deputy Mayor, Godawari Municipality.

Mr. Rajendra Shrestha, Program Director of ENPHO facilitated the training session. During the training, Mr. Shrestha introduced about the standard septic tank and important aspect while constructing a standard septic tank. To clarify more on standard septic tank, a practical demonstration of real size module of standard septic tank was also done.

“Through this training, I expected to learn some technical aspect of standard septic tank. But through the practical session, I am clearer on size and chambers of standard septic tank,” Mr. Maahila Maharjan, Chapagaun, Ward 11 of Godawari Municipality.

The training was actively attended by 13 masons from Ward 4 – Badikhel, Ward 6 – Lapse, Ward 8 – Dukuchhap, Ward 11 – Chapagaun, Ward 12 – Jharuwarasi and Ward 13 – Jharuwarasi of Godawari Municipality.
