Since its establishment, ENPHO has conducted research and development to support evidence-based advocacy and develop contextualized, innovative technologies. Its studies cover drinking water quality, air and river water quality, sanitation, wastewater and fecal sludge, arsenic contamination, household water treatment, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, public health, and emerging issues such as COVID-19 detection in wastewater. Based on research findings, ENPHO has developed affordable WASH technologies and products including Piyush, ready-to-install toilets, coliform test vials, free residual chlorine test kits, arsenic field test kits, ENPHO field water test kits, E. coli and coliform vials, Swachha filters, and body belt incubators.
