Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) with the support of the Bill and Milinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and ITN-BUET organized the online training on Introduction to CWIS Approach for likeminded organization staffs from different I/NGOs, private organization, government officer from 14 June to 19 July 2024. This training aims to increase basis understating on Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS). This course enhances the knowledge on how to analyze any sanitation service through CWIS lens and design program accordingly.
The training was conducted using the Moodle learning management system, allowing participants to study at their own pace. The course was designed with the engaging activities including quiz, discussion forum and assignment. By the end of the course, participant had to visit nearby sanitation facilities to apply the CWIS lens in the respective sanitation facilities.
Weekly updates, problems, and issues regarding the course were discussed via Zoom every Friday. In this training, 7 participants (1 female and 6 male) actively enrolled in the training session and completed the courses and they were honored with the certificate of completion.
Samikshya Bhattarai, Program Coordinator at CIUD, concluded that the online training on Introduction to CWIS helped her to enhance knowledge on CWIS. The course support on analyzing the sanitation services through the lens of CWIS during her visit to sanitation service.
Additionally, Neejan Shrestha, Wine to Water, informed the self-paced course was engaging and interesting with the mixture of activities which was easily understood by the participant. The courses had the adequate amount of information which was presented in a participatory way.
