Kathmandu, February 27, 2025

The Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) hosted a follow-up meet-up for the participants of Citywide Inclusive Sanitation – Training of Trainers (CWIS ToT) program. The trainings, conducted in two batches in December 2023 and December 2024, were led by the National Water Supply and Sanitation Training Center (NWSSTC) with support from ENPHO and Citywide Inclusive Sanitation Alliance Nepal (CWISAN). The trainings were designed to equip professionals with the essential knowledge and skills necessary to strengthen urban sanitation efforts.

The meet-up, held at ENPHO’s hall, brought together 13 participants from both training batches. The event provided a platform for attendees to reflect on their experiences, share insights, and discuss the practical application of their learnings and knowledge gained from the CWIS ToT training.

Participants shared their experience on how they applied the knowledge and skills acquired during their training. They highlighted initiatives they have undertaken and discussed the challenges they faced in applying their learnings.

The participants were encouraged to outline potential actionable activities to sustain the impact of their training in the meeting. Discussions also covered potential strategies, responsibilities and the necessary support required for effective implementation.

“After attending 8-day training on CWIS, I gained a comprehensive understanding of its significance and practical applications. We are now integrating CWIS sessions into our training packages at Local Development Training Academy (LDTA). As a CWIS trainer, I strongly recommend this training for decision-makers.” – Jaya Krishna Shrestha, Director, LTDA.

Additionally, participants were also informed that trainers’ roster, established at ENPHO which includes their details, has been shared with relevant stakeholders. This roster will help to the sector as a reference if their expertise is needed for conducting sanitation-related training programs. The event also emphasized the importance of networking and collaboration, fostering connections among the trainers across different training cohorts.
