The National Water Supply and Sanitation Training Center (NWSSTC), in collaboration with the Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO), successfully hosted a “Learning and Sharing Workshop” on 7th April 2025 at Hotel Le Himalayan. The workshop brought together key stakeholders from various governmental training organizations to provide a unified platform for sharing activities and identifying common goals. Through this, participants explored areas for improved coordination, aiming to align efforts and ensure more effective capacity-building initiatives that address the sector’s evolving needs.

The workshop brought together 13 participants from various governmental training organizations/institutions, including NWSSTC, Local Development Training Academy (LDTA), Training Institute for Technical Instruction (TITI), Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC), to foster better coordination among these key stakeholders.
The workshop underscored the importance of collaboration among governmental training organizations/institutions, offering participants valuable space to exchange best practices, discuss benchmarking efforts, and explore potential joint initiatives. Each organization presented its ongoing training programs and the methodologies they employ, highlighting their approaches to addressing sector-specific needs.

The event served as a foundational step toward ongoing collaboration and coordination among training institutions. Moving forward, organization-level visits will be conducted to gain a deeper understanding of institutional structures and approaches. Under the leadership of NWSSTC, a two-day workshop will be organized to identify concrete areas for collaboration, leveraging the strengths and expertise of each institution. Stakeholder and target audience mapping will be undertaken to ensure training effectiveness, while joint advocacy efforts will be initiated to pursue accreditation of training programs. As an immediate next step, relevant case studies will be shared for potential integration into existing training packages, setting the tone for a more unified and impactful training ecosystem in Nepal’s sanitation sector.
“This meeting has given me a glimpse of the future of collaboration and networking, which I believe will be immensely helpful for our work. By learning how other institutions are conducting their training programs, we now have valuable insights that will guide us in improving our own initiatives. The exchange of ideas and experiences should be conducted frequently to foster continuous improvement and collaboration.”- Govinda Bhandari, Deputy Director-NASC
“We were lacking collaboration before as we were unaware of what other organizations were undertaking. This initiative has opened opportunities for collaboration, and this event has provided us with a platform for joint advocacy efforts. It’s a step forward in working together more effectively to achieve our common goals.”-Rajendra Shrestha, Program Director-ENPHO
