Effective training delivery is one of the core functions of ENPHO Training Centre unit. The unit delivers trainings in participatory way by creating safe learning environment so that the participants can enhance their knowledge and skills. The trainings are provided by highly skilled, experienced and trained internal and external trainers and resource persons.
The ‘Training of Trainers (ToT)’ training events specifically focus on the ways through which the participants can enhance their knowledge and capacities, and then effectively impart information to the targeted groups using participatory tools and techniques. The well prepared training manuals, considerably, support for the effective delivery with engaging activities.
The trainings are delivered either as per the yearly plan of the unit or on the basis of demand received from implementing organizations. However, Training Centre, mostly, delivers three types of trainings:
Scheduled training:
Scheduled trainings are annually pre-planned by ENPHO Training Centre and announces call of such trainings through ENPHO’s website and Facebook page. The scheduled trainings are also listed on the main page of ENPHO Training Centre.
On-demand training:
On-demand trainings are executed upon the request received from various WASH implementing agencies which includes local organizations, NGOs and INGOs. Training provided by ENPHO Training Centre as per on-demand training are either from the list of packages developed by ENPHO Training Centre or are customized as per the requirement of the organizations.
In-house project trainings:
In collaboration with different partners, ENPHO implements various projects on WASH. As per the need and requirement of such projects, ENPHO Training Centre conducts trainings planned in these projects and calls it as in-house trainings.
As of July 2020, ENPHO Training Centre has delivered 406 training events including online sessions under different in-house project and on-demand training. In the year 2020 ENPHO Training Centre has delivered 11 in-presence training and 82 online training sessions to avoid COVID-19 pandemic. Altogether ENPHO Training Centre has trained 7,804 individual WASH professionals from 314 GOs, 36 INGOs, 1,038 NGOs/CBOs and 4 UN agencies under different WASH topics.
ENPHO Training Centre also has expertise on the following topics and provides technical support to conduct training on:

• Rain Water Harvesting
• Solid Waste Management
• Disaster Risk Reduction and WASH
• Decentralized Wastewater Treatment System (DEWATS)
• Faecal Sludge Management
• Ecological Sanitation
ENPHO Training Centre is planning to deliver a full fledge training packages in near future which includes both theory and practical session. The full fledge training will provide a blended opportunity for participants to practice the theory learnt from the training being in real scenario or community.
