Booth Campaign for ‘Safe Drinking Water’ | Cholera Response Activity

With the increase in cholera infection cases in Kathmandu, it is essential to ensure the safety of our drinking water to prevent the spread of water-borne diseases.
In this regard, ENPHO with the support of UNICEF and in coordination with Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the WASH cluster is organizing a week-long Booth Campaign at those places where the incidence of cholera cases was reported, to raise awareness on the importance of safe drinking water.

 

With awareness-raising through the dissemination of IEC materials on water purification, activities like water quality testing and distribution of Piyush (Chlorine Solution for water purification) were also carried out to help the general public have access to safe drinking water.

This event was organized on 31st June 2022 at Kalimati Chowk, Ward no. 13. And since then, has been organized at Bafal Chowk, Ward no. 13; Anamnagar Samudayik Prahari area, Ward no. 29; Tukucha Tarkari Bazar Area, Ward no. 28; Kumari Club, Ward no.14 and Macchapokhari Tarkari Bazar, Ward no. 16 of Kathmandu.
