German WASH Network in coordination with ENPHO virtually organized a Regional WASH Workshop for WASH practitioners of Asian region from 9th to 13th May, 2022 at ENPHO Hall, Kathmandu. The main objective of this workshop was to strengthen capacities of WASH practitioners at regional level and provide them a platform for knowledge exchange along with networking opportunity. WASH practitioners from WASH Network organizations and local partners from other humanitarian organizations of Asian region participated in this workshop.
The workshop was informally inaugurated with the welcome note from Ms. Monica Ramos, Coordinator, Global WASH Cluster. Inauguration was followed by introduction session where the team of facilitators along with participants introduced themselves. With this, participants were also requested to share their expectations from the workshop and were briefed about the Zoom Features and Miroboard (tools used to conduct the workshop virtually) and different features from Zoom.
A five day workshop mainly focused on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sessions which incorporated Global Humanitarian Issue, Humanitarian Principles and Standards (Sphere). The sessions also included knowledge on Water Quality, Water Supply Technologies, Emergency Sanitation, Feacal Sludge Management, Hygiene Promotion and Behaviour Change/ Preparedness during Emergencies with Resilience and Mitigation. Aligning with this, Market Based Programming and WASH Operation & Maintenance were briefed along with different relevant examples in context of Asian Region. These contents were delivered by experienced key speakers with rich content from different countries used in Emergencies.
Presentation were made using the Miroboard, Jamboard and Kahoot along with group discussion in the break out room. Question/answer round, panel session encouraged the participants to provide their inputs and make the workshop engaging.

Altogether 26 WASH practitioners from 8 different countries of Asian region participated in the workshop.
