The majority of existing septic tank in Nepal are found to be holding tank or pits. These types of holding tank pollute the groundwater by discharging the collected wastewater. To promote safe containment practice in municipality, Godawari Municipality in Lalitpur district installed 4 Ready to Install (RTI) Eco-Septic tank at Gyan Itta Bhatta, Ganesh Mandir, and Mahat KulDevta Mandir of Ward no. 5, Lele, Lalitpur. The activity intended to demonstrate RTI Septic tank at the municipality and to aware people on safe containment practice and its importance to environment and public health.

ENPHO with the support of BMGF under the “Pilot Implementation of FSM Standard in Nepal” project carried out this activity to promote safe containment at Godawari Municipality.
RTI septic tank is an eco-friendly tank that is ready to use and promotes safe containment for the onsite sanitation systems, which ultimately contribute to the environment and public health.
