On the occasion of #NationalSanitationWeek and marking #WorldEnvironmentDay2022 , ENPHO with the support of UNICEF under the ‘Towards Achieving Resilient and Water Safe Urban Communities in Selected Areas of Kathmandu Valley’ project organized an Inter-school Letter Writing Competition on “The Role of Safe Water for Healthy Families” targeting the school students on 7th June, 2022 at Mahalaxmi Municipality, Lalitpur. The competition aimed to sensitize students, teachers and especially parents through the messages included in letter that were written by the students for their parents.

Altogether twenty students from four different schools from Lubhu participated in the program. The schools from which students participated were, Shree Sisneri Secondary School, Mahalaxmi Academy, Shree Mahalaxmi Secondary School and Shree Lubhu Secondary School of Lubhu.

Winner announcement and prize distribution of this competition will be held during ‘Citizen Led Water Quality Testing Booth Camp’ scheduled for 10th June, 2022.

The activity has helped to sensitize and alert the parents on ensuring quality of drinking water. As after the program, parents have shown interest and have participated in ‘Citizen Led Water Quality Testing’organized under the same project at Mahalaxmi Temple premises (Near Mahalaxmi Academy) on 8 June, 2022. During the campaign parents along with other community people attended the campaign in order to test their drinking water quality.
