With the technical support of the Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO), Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) successfully completed the Master Training of Trainers (MToT) on Delivering Effective WASH Training (DEWT) at Chitwan held from 26th to 30th March 2024. The event was organized to enhance the effective training delivery skills and knowledge of RRN staff active in the community level.
The five-day event focused on how to facilitate WASH training events using structured outlines/guidelines/manuals and adapt them as per the needs of participants. Participants learned to address learners’ needs, establish a safe and equitable learning environment, motivate learners, improve presentation skills, ask relevant questions, refine active listening and learning methods, support learners at various stages of learning, and skillfully handle participants ‘queries and issues.
A total of 14 staff members participated in the training event which was facilitated by WASH Training Officer, Ms. Shobha Rana and Lead Trainer, Mr. Subash K.C. Attendees expressed their appreciation for the training, describing it being fruitful, meaningful, and relevant for their personal and professional growth.
Ms. Pratigya Katel, Project Coordinator-WHH, said, “The MToT on DEWT has been exceptionally completed. I believe that all participants will effectively convey the WASH message to the community and will contribute to the objective of fostering positive behavioural changes within the community to achieve clean villages and total sanitation by 2030. I extend my gratitude to the facilitators and ENPHO for delivering such impactful training.”
In short, the event was successful in boosting the confidence level of participants more effectively community level using appropriate IEC/training materials and bringing positive behavioural changes in the community which is indicated by the comparative result of pre and post-test scores of each participant.
