The “Online training on Drinking Water Quality Testing (DWQT)” successfully organized by Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) with the support of Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST) under the project Optimizing the Use of Capacity Building Materials: Triggering SDG 6 Achievement. The online training started from 28th August to 18th September 2024 . The live zoom sessions were held every Wednesday along with self-study though learning management course.
The course focused on empowering participants to understand water quality, water sampling procedures, learning about the portable water test kit to test the physical, chemical and microbiological parameters of drinking water. The format of the course was self-study using the learning management system developed by CAWST and contextualized by ENPHO to meet the local context.
“This training was very relevant and applicable to my individual and professional development, equipping me with essential knowledge and skills that I can directly apply in my work”, highlighted Om Prakash Chaudhary, NRCS.
A total of 19 participants (12 male and 7 female) representing different local government bodies, NGOs, INGOs, academic institutions had participated in the online course. The goal was to enhance the knowledge and skills in drinking water quality testing to ensure safe water, in line with the targets of SDG 6 (Safe Water and Sanitation).
