Integrated Urban Water Management at the Center of Municipal Public Services

Aim:

  • To support the municipalities and environmental service providers for improving the living conditions of the people through protecting the natural resources

 

Project Description:

It is essential to step towards sustainable management of water and sanitation services through integrated approaches incorporating various urban issues.

Hence, Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) in the partnership with BORDA has implemented “Integrated Urban Water Management at the centre of municipal services” project in Godawari and Kritipur muncipalities.

The specific objective of the project is to:

  • Provide support and services in development, implementation and operations in sustainable environmental and WASH services.
  • Enhance the knowledge and capacity of municipal environmental service providers and stakeholders in sustainable water management sector.

 

Project Outputs:

  • Trained 22 municipal officers and water user’s committee on Water Source Protection
  • Trained 41 waste management operators on Solid Waste Management
  • Trained 11 people in water quality sampling and testing using ENPHO Water Quality Test kit
  • Installed Chlorine dosing units at five water supply schemes of Godawari Municipaility
  • 14 sets of ENPHO Water Quality Test kit distributed to wards of Godawari Municipality
  • Pedal Operated Handwashing Station installed at 10 places of Godawari and Kirtipur Municipality
